Pork chop with sage and Apple Caramel Calvados/with video
Ingredients
- 2 bone-in pork chops, about 1 cm thick
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper
- 1 tbsp salted butter
- 12 fresh sage leaves
- 2 garlic cloves
- 3 tbspCallas Confiture Appel Caramel Calvados
- 1-2 Jonagold apples, sliced
- 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
- 1 tbsp freshly chopped thyme
Preparation
- Preheat your oven’s grill to maximum temperature.
- Season the pork chops with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
- Sear the chops for 2-3 minutes on each side over high heat in a preheated oven-safe pan with olive oil. Continue cooking over medium heat for a few more minutes.
- Place the chops on a plate and generously coat both sides with the Apple Caramel Calvados fruit butter.
- Add butter to the pan and toss in the garlic, apples, and sage. Sauté for 1-2 minutes.
- Return the chops to the pan and drizzle the balsamic vinegar over them.
- Place the pan under the grill and let it grill for another 3 minutes, until the apples turn golden brown.
- Remove from the oven, spoon the sauce over the chops, and finish with freshly chopped thyme.
